Burkina Faso

Burkina Faso is a landlocked country located in West Africa. It shares borders with Mali to the north, Niger to the east, Benin to the southeast, Togo and Ghana to the south, and Ivory Coast to the southwest. The capital city is Ouagadougou. Burkina Faso is known for its diverse ethnic groups and cultures, as well as its significant agricultural sector, which includes cotton and food crops. The country gained independence from France in 1960 and has since experienced a range of political changes, including periods of military rule and democratic governance. The official language is French, and the nation’s name translates to “Land of Honest People” in the local Mossi language.
