Cambodia

Cambodia is a Southeast Asian nation located on the Indochinese Peninsula. It is bordered by Thailand to the west and northwest, Laos to the north, and Vietnam to the east and south. The country’s official name is the Kingdom of Cambodia. Its capital and largest city is Phnom Penh.

Cambodia is known for its rich cultural heritage, including the remnants of the Khmer Empire, most notably the Angkor Wat temple complex, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site and a symbol of national pride. The country has a diverse geography that includes mountains, plains, and the Mekong River, which plays a crucial role in its agriculture and economy.

Historically, Cambodia has experienced periods of prosperity and turmoil, including the devastating Khmer Rouge regime in the 1970s. Despite these challenges, Cambodia has made significant strides in rebuilding and developing its economy, focusing on tourism, agriculture, and manufacturing as key sectors. The official language is Khmer, and the predominant religion is Buddhism, which influences much of the culture and traditions in the country.
