Czechia
Czechia, also known as the Czech Republic, is a landlocked country located in Central Europe. It shares borders with Germany to the west, Poland to the north, Slovakia to the east, and Austria to the south. The country has a rich history and cultural heritage, being part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire before becoming an independent state after World War I in 1918. In 1993, following the peaceful dissolution of Czechoslovakia, Czechia emerged as a separate nation. The capital city is Prague, known for its historic architecture and vibrant arts scene. Czechia is a parliamentary republic, and its official language is Czech. The country is known for its contributions to literature, music, and science, and it has a strong tradition of craftsmanship and brewing. In 2016, the name “Czechia” was officially adopted as a short form for the Czech Republic to facilitate its use in international contexts.
