Djibouti

Djibouti is a small sovereign nation located in the Horn of Africa, bordered by the Red Sea to the east and the Gulf of Aden. It shares land borders with Eritrea to the north, Ethiopia to the west and south, and Somalia to the southeast. The country is strategically positioned at the entrance to the Red Sea, an important maritime route for global trade.

Djibouti is characterized by its arid climate, with most of its landscape consisting of volcanic plateaus and salt flats. The capital city, also named Djibouti, serves as the main urban center of the country and is a key port city, facilitating trade and transportation in the region.

The population of Djibouti is diverse, comprising various ethnic groups, and the official languages are French and Arabic. The economy is primarily driven by the services sector, particularly shipping and logistics due to its strategic location. Djibouti also hosts various military bases of foreign nations, further emphasizing its geopolitical significance. The country gained independence from France in 1977 and has since worked to develop its infrastructure and strengthen its economy.
