Gabon
Gabon is a country located on the west coast of Central Africa. It is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean to the west, Equatorial Guinea to the northwest, Cameroon to the northeast, and the Republic of the Congo to the east and south. The capital city of Gabon is Libreville. Gabon is known for its rich biodiversity and significant rainforest cover, which is part of the Congo Basin, one of the most important rainforest regions in the world. The country has a relatively small population compared to its size and is rich in natural resources, particularly oil, manganese, and timber. Gabon’s economy largely depends on these resources, and it has a high GDP per capita relative to many other African nations. The official language is French, and the country has a diverse culture influenced by various ethnic groups and traditions. Gabon gained independence from France in 1960.
