Lithuania

Lithuania is a country located in the Baltic region of Europe. It is bordered by the Baltic Sea to the west, Latvia to the north, Estonia to the northwest, Poland to the south, and Belarus to the east and south. Lithuania is one of the three Baltic States, alongside Latvia and Estonia. Its capital and largest city is Vilnius. The country has a rich history, having been part of various empires and states, including the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, which was one of the largest countries in Europe in the 14th to 16th centuries.

Lithuania regained its independence from the Soviet Union in 1990 and is a member of the European Union and NATO. The official language is Lithuanian, which is one of the oldest languages still spoken in Europe, belonging to the Baltic group of the Indo-European language family. Lithuania has a diverse cultural heritage, influenced by its history and location, and is known for its natural landscapes, historical sites, and traditions.
