Palestine State
Palestine State refers to the sovereign political entity claimed by the Palestinian people, primarily in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. It is recognized by a number of countries and international organizations as a state, distinct from Israel, with its own governance, aspirations for national independence, and cultural identity. The concept of a Palestinian state includes the desire for an independent nation that would exist alongside Israel, based on pre-1967 borders, although the exact parameters of borders and governance remain subjects of ongoing political negotiations and conflict. The Palestinian Authority, established as a result of the Oslo Accords in the 1990s, functions as a semi-autonomous governing body in parts of the territories, though full statehood and recognition as a member of the United Nations remain contested issues in international relations.
