Uganda
Uganda is a landlocked country located in East Africa. It is bordered by Kenya to the east, South Sudan to the north, the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the west, Rwanda to the southwest, and Tanzania to the south. The country is known for its diverse landscapes, which include the snow-capped Rwenzori Mountains, vast lakes like Lake Victoria, and the rich wildlife of its national parks. Uganda’s capital and largest city is Kampala. The country is characterized by a variety of ethnic groups and languages, with English and Swahili being the official languages. Uganda gained independence from British colonial rule in 1962. It is recognized for its cultural heritage, natural beauty, and significant biodiversity, including rare species such as the mountain gorilla.
