Malawi

Malawi is a landlocked country located in southeastern Africa. It is bordered by Zambia to the west, Tanzania to the north and northeast, and Mozambique to the south, southeast, and southwest. The country is known for its diverse geography, which includes the Great Rift Valley and Lake Malawi, one of the largest and deepest lakes in Africa, often referred to as the “Calendar Lake” due to its long, tapering shape resembling a calendar. Malawi has a rich cultural heritage, with various ethnic groups and languages, predominantly Chichewa. The economy of Malawi is primarily based on agriculture, with tobacco, tea, and sugar being significant exports. The country faces challenges such as poverty and vulnerability to climate change, but it is also known for its friendly people and vibrant traditions. The capital city of Malawi is Lilongwe, while Blantyre is the country’s commercial hub. Malawi is often referred to as the “Warm Heart of Africa” due to its hospitality and welcoming nature of its people.
